The ideal candidate should be certified lawyer with knowledge and experience in the tech industry. He/She will be expected to:
- Advise on business formation, structuring, and obtaining required licenses or permits in Nigeria.
- Draft and file incorporation documents (e.g., CAC registration for LLCs or corporations).
- Provide counsel on intellectual property protection, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, vendors, investors, and employees.
- Ensure compliance with local and international data privacy regulations (e.g., NDPR, GDPR).
- Develop privacy policies, terms of service, and implement data security protocols.
- Advise on fundraising strategies, draft investment agreements, and ensure compliance with Nigerian securities laws.
- Provide legal guidance on employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, and labor law compliance in Nigeria.
- Represent the company in legal disputes, negotiate settlements, and explore alternative dispute resolution options.
- Advise on regulatory compliance in industry-specific areas (e.g., telecommunications, fintech, healthcare).
- Identify and mitigate legal risks, providing strategic business advice.
