Job Description

This role is responsible for translating the CEO’s ideas into engaging, high-quality digital content across social platforms. The ideal candidate understands social media trends, creates compelling short-form content, and actively manages online communities to drive engagement and growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation & Execution

  • Develop and publish engaging short-form videos (Reels, TikTok) and social media posts

  • Edit content using CapCut and design visuals using Canva (both are required)

  • Turn raw ideas into clear, engaging, and high-performing content

2. Social Media & Growth

  • Apply strong content hooks and storytelling techniques to improve engagement

  • Monitor performance and adjust content to improve reach, shares, and retention

  • Stay up to date with social media trends and adapt content accordingly

3. AI & Content Tools

  • Use AI tools (e.g., Canva AI, Google Vids, etc.) to improve content quality and speed

  • Google Vids experience is a plus, not mandatory (training will be provided)

4. Community Management

  • Manage and respond to comments and messages across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube)

  • Engage with followers and build an active online community

  • Maintain a timely response rate to audience interactions

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Engagement rate (likes, comments, shares)

  • Content reach and video retention

  • Growth of social media pages and audience

  • Response time to messages and comments

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills (Non-Negotiable)

  • Strong proficiency in CapCut

  • Strong proficiency in Canva

Other Requirements

  • Proven experience managing social media accounts or creating digital content

  • Strong understanding of short-form video content (Reels/TikTok)

  • Ability to work with trends and create engaging content quickly

  • Good communication and writing skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI content tools (e.g., Google Vids, Canva AI)

  • Basic understanding of music trends (Afrobeats, Afro-house, etc.)

  • Strong visual/design sense

Interview Process

  • Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical content task as part of the interview process

  • This will involve creating or editing content to demonstrate their skills

  • A digital-native who understands social media culture and trends

  • Creative, fast-paced, and detail-oriented

  • Able to take direction and also bring fresh ideas
