The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth, expanding partnerships, and building a robust ecosystem of restaurants, retail vendors, corporate clients, and riders. This role requires a strong mix of strategic vision, sales execution, and operational know-how. You will spearhead efforts to onboard partners, grow revenue, and launch in new regions, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure success. The role will be on-site in Lagos with occasional travel for campaigns, vendor onboarding, and market expansion.
Responsibilities
Identify, pitch, and onboard restaurants, grocery stores, and retail vendors onto the platform.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners to foster growth and collaboration.
Negotiate contracts and service-level agreements that balance partner satisfaction with company goals.
Develop and execute strategies for launching the platform in new cities and regions.
Lead promotional events, marketing campaigns, and activations to boost awareness and user acquisition.
Drive rider recruitment to balance demand and supply.
Consistently meet and exceed vendor acquisition, customer acquisition, and revenue targets.
Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Marketing teams to align strategies and execution.
Collect and relay market feedback to guide product and service improvements.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
Build and lead a high-performing business development team as the platform scales.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, preferably in tech, e-commerce, logistics, or food delivery industries.
Proven track record of achieving business growth and securing high-value partnerships.
Strong negotiation, networking, and presentation skills.
In-depth knowledge of Nigeria’s delivery and e-commerce landscape.
Data-driven approach to decision-making and performance tracking.
Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in startup or fast-growth environments.
Competitive base salary: ₦400,000 – ₦500,000
Performance-based bonuses (TBD).
