Job Description

 Our client is seeking a skilled Automation QA Engineer with strong experience testing JavaScript-based applications, particularly Node.js and React. The ideal candidate is confident in debugging issues across both frontend and backend layers and can write clear, structured test cases that support reliable product releases.

This role requires hands-on experience in test automation, API testing, and CI/CD integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications

  • Write detailed and well-structured test cases and test plans based on business requirements

  • Perform API testing for Node.js backend services

  • Conduct UI testing for React applications

  • Debug application issues across frontend and backend layers

  • Identify, log, and track bugs using proper defect management processes

  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams

  • Maintain high test coverage and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines

  • Perform regression, smoke, and performance testing when required

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript

  • Experience testing applications built with:

    • Node.js

    • React

  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as:

    • Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium

    • Jest, Mocha, or Chai

  • Experience in API testing using tools like Postman or automated API frameworks

  • Solid understanding of debugging JavaScript applications across frontend and backend

  • Knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good to Have

  • Experience with database testing (SQL or NoSQL)

  • Familiarity with performance testing tools

  • Knowledge of Docker or cloud environments, preferably AWS

  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in QA Automation
